Introduction
Pamoja courses work on a week-by-week basis, which means a certain amount of flexibility is possible for students who may need to be absent for short periods. In this article, you will learn the definitions of short-term, and long-term absence and what should the schools do accordingly.
Short-term absence
Students are expected to access all the course material every week. If a student is absent for a short space of time but is still able to complete their Pamoja work for the week, then it is not necessary to inform the teacher or School Services of the absence.
However, if a student is going to be unable to complete the work required of them in a particular week, the student should reach out to their Pamoja teacher via Keychat with as much notice as possible.
Teachers can provide students with work extensions if enough notice is given, or for a valid reason.
Long-term absence
If a student is going to be absent from school for an extended period, SBC/DPC should inform the School Services Team(courses@pamojaeducation.com) and Pamoja teacher as soon as possible.
If a work extension is needed, SBC/DPC should contact the Pamoja teacher to ask for an extension on behalf of the student.
If a student requests an extension by himself/herself, the request will be directed to SBC for confirmation.
If a student is absent for a medical reason, please forward the medical note or any other related document to School Services at courses@pamojaeducation.com
