This article explains how to get started as a Site-based Coordinator (SBC).
Step 1: Check your welcome emails
Once the Pamoja School Service team has confirmed your SBC account has been created, you will receive three emails from notifications@instructure.com
First email: “Finish registration: Canvas”
Please follow the instructions in this email to complete your account setup.
You will be asked to: confirm your login details, set your password and select your time zone.
- Please ensure you select the correct time zone for your location.
If your region observes Daylight Saving Time, choose the appropriate option (e.g. London +00:00/+01:00 rather than UTC +00:00).
Click "Register" to complete this step.
Second email: “Pamoja SBC Dashboard invitation”
Please click “Get Started” to accept the invitation to your SBC Dashboard.
Third email: “SBC Orientation invitation”
Please click “Get Started” to access the SBC Orientation course.
Step 2: Accept course invitations
After logging in, you may see a green notification banner at the top of your page.
Please click “Accept” to confirm your enrolment in:
- The SBC Orientation Course
- The Pamoja Dashboard
Both the SBC Orientation Course and the Pamoja Dashboard are set up as 'courses' within your Pamoja account. Therefore, when you were added to them, you were noted as a student.
Please be assured that your setup is correct, and being noted as a student in the Orientation and Dashboard does not impact your ability to use these functions.
Step 3: Access your SBC Orientation course
Once your account setup is complete, please go to the SBC Orientation Course located within your Pamoja SBC account. This course is designed to help you get started with the Pamoja platform, explain how to support Pamoja Online Courses students and explain the SBC role. Once completed, you can return to it at any time.
